This is a common question for readers of this blog so I will attempt to answer it now.
The first piece of information you need to know is what is the half-life of Chantix? The half-life of Chantix is approximately 24hours.

Pharmacokinetics principle tell us that it takes 5 half-lifes to get a drug out of your system. So approximately 5 days after your last dose of Chantix it is out of your system.

Here is how it works:
  • Starting from the last dose of Chantix 24 hours later you have 50% of Chantix in your system.
  • Ater two half-life (or 48 hrs) you have 25% of Chantix in your system.
  • After an additional 24 hours(another half-life) you have 12.5% of Chantix in your system.
  • You continue this progression and after 5 days ( 5xhalf-life) your system is practically 97% free of Chantix.
  • After a week your system is Chantix free.
